Man charged with murder after Gravesend stabbing

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his elderly father in Gravesend.

Tony Wotton, 47, of Mackenzie Way in the town, appeared before magistrates in Medway today.

He was remanded in custody until Friday, when he will appear at Maidstone Crown Court.

It follows the death of his dad, Terry Wotton, who was found by police at a property in Mackenzie Way on Monday night.

The 71-year-old had been stabbed several times in the chest and arms and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
