A Dutch man's been charged with smuggling heroin worth £3m in a suitcase.

Mimoun Bounaouara, 26, from the Netherlands, was remanded in custody after appearing at Folkestone magistrates court.

He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to Dover magistrates on August 11.

It comes after Bounaouara was arrested on August 1 at the UK Border Agency controls at the entrance to the Channel Tunnel in Coquelles, France.

Officers were said to have searched a coach heading to London and allegedly found 31 packages in a suitcase which tested positive for heroin. They weighed around 60 kilos.
