A Tonbridge man has been charged with the theft of items from an Olympic athlete.

Daniel Turowski, 28, of Alexandra Road, Tonbridge, has been bailed to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court on September 11.

But a 27-year-old woman from Tonbridge, who was also arrested in connection with the theft, has been released without charge.

It was originally thought Australian athlete Andrew McCabe's running spikes were stolen, but they are no longer part of the investigation.

Mr McCabe was said to be practising at Tonbridge School, in London Road, when the alleged theft happened.
