Man charged after airport drugs seizure

KENT Police have charged a 28-year-old man in connection with the seizure of 42 kilos of herbal cannabis.

The drugs, with an estimated value of £42,000, were intercepted by HM Revenue and Customs officers at Heathrow on Thursday March 8.

Richard Lovett, a mechanic, of Granville Road, Gillingham, is accused of the importation of controlled drugs. He was remanded in custody by Medway magistrates court on Thursday. He is due back at the same court March 20.

Two other people arrested on March 8, a man aged 28 and a woman aged 30, have been bailed until April 25.
