Man arrested in double murder probe

A man is reported to have been arrested at a Kent port in connection with the murder of two women in Birmingham.

The bodies of the women - both said to be in their early 20s - were found in a flat in the city on Monday. Police said they had been subjected to a "sustained and violent attack".

A 28-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested by Kent Police on Tuesday as he tried to board a ferry at Dover.

Police said the man may have been known to the women, who had lived together in the flat, but he was not related to them.
