A hotel in Folkestone was badly damaged by fire last night for the second time in a month.

The Windsor Hotel in in Langhorne Gardens was evacuated when the fire broke out on the second floor at 9.28pm.

One man had to be rescued from the basement by firefighters. One person was taken to hospital.

Crews from Folkestone and Hythe attended and were at the scene for an hour and a half.

The blaze is being treated as arson and a man has been arrested.

The Windsor was closed on August 5 by a fire in a stairwell which started in a bundle of laundry.

Then 26 guests and staff were evacuated. Most guests went to the Clifton Hotel opposite.

The cause of that fire is being investigated.
