Man arrested after death in Dover

Kent Police in Dover have launched a murder
inquiry following the death of a 31-year-old local man.

The man had been found collapsed in Clarendon
Street, Dover at around 3pm yesterday.

He was taken to William Harvey Hospital,
Ashford where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of his death will be subject of a
post mortem, which is expected to take place later today.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of
murder yesterday evening, and is in in custody.

Police secured the scene in Clarendon Street
while Crime Scene investigators attended, and a Ford Focus was
recovered from the scene.

The area surrounding the William Harvey
Hospital was also subject of a search, after a man left the
hospital before speaking to officers, but he later attended Dover
police station to help with enquiries. He was not arrested.
