Man admits sports club arson

A 20-year-old man today pleaded guilty to two charges of arson when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court.

Samuel Clinch admitted destroying Hythe Cricket and Squash Club and also damaging the fishing vessel Lavicca, belonging to Kevin Sharp, both on April 5.

Clinch of Grange Road, Saltwood, near Hythe, was released on bail until sentence in about four weeks' time.

Judge Warwick McKinnon ordered a pre-sentence report.
