Man admits hotel arson charge

A 68-year-old man has pleaded guilty to deliberately starting a
fire at a hotel near Dover.

The blaze at the Cliffe Court Hotel in East Cliff broke out at
around 12.30am Tuesday.

Peter Fagan, who lived at the hotel, was charged with arson and
recklessly endangering life.

He admitted the charge at Folkestone Magistrates' Court and was
remanded in custody until Monday, March 23 when he will appear at
Canterbury Crown Court.

Firefighters spent two hours tackling the fire and the hotel was
evacuated. Nobody was hurt.
