Man, 28, questioned after fatal stabbing

AN INVESTIGATION is under way after a man died at a party in the Luton area of Chatham early today. It is believed the man, in his 50s, was stabbed to death at a flat in Lester Road just after midnight.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at another address in Chatham at about 6am today and is being questioned at Chatham Police Station. It is believed the dead man lived in nearby Luton Road.

The victim has not yet been formally identified. Police would only say that they are treating the death as suspicious. A post mortem was due to be held this afternoon.
