The winner, known only as Mrs P, matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball in the draw on Wednesday, October 20.

She then added to her luck by matching three main numbers on another line and topped up the prize pot with an extra £30, taking the total to £1,000,030.

She plans to buy a new home and car with her fortunes.

Mrs P has decided to keep partial anonymity, although players are given the option to go public with their wins or opt for full anonymity.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “Huge congratulations to Mrs P for winning this fantastic prize. She has become a millionaire overnight and can now look forward to a new home and buying just about any car she wants!”

The National Lottery has eight million players winning each week, but few achieve a prize pot like the one won by Mrs P.

According to The National Lottery website, the chances of winning the jackpot is just one in 45,057,474.

Lottery wins are few and far between in Kent, but this is the second million pound win this year - Mr L also won the prize in the draw on Wednesday, June 2.
