An investigation is under way after the wheel of this lorry came off on a motorway and spun onto the opposite carriageway.

Eyewitnesses told police how two of the lorry's tyres had blown out as it travelled coast-bound on the M20 at junction 4, near Leybourne, just before 1pm Saturday.

The vehicle jackknifed and at least one of the wheels crossed the central reservation onto the London-bound carriageway.

Police say they have impounded a vehicle and are investigating its road-worthiness.

Drivers were faced with queues as the coast-bound stretch was shut to recover the lorry. The road was reopened at around 2.30pm.

Nobody was injured and no other vehicles were involved in the collision. The driver of the lorry was not arrested.
