Lorry driver in court accused of biker's death

A tipper lorry driver appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday accused of causing the death of a motorcylist by dangerous driving.

Shaun Chalkley’s Volvo truck was in collision with Stephen Brindley’s Kawasaki bike in Grain Road, Isle of Grain, on July 21 last year.

Mr Brindley, 45, of Pannell Road, Grain, suffered fatal injuries.

Chalkley, 48, of Temple Close, Thamesmead, will return to court on May 11 to enter a plea. Unconditional bail was continued.
