Hoo boxer Adam Dingsdale will be stepping into the unknown when he takes to the ring at the Doncaster Dome on Friday night.

Unbeaten Dingsdale faces Slovakian Stefan Kollar in what will be his third professional bout.

But trainer Ray Askew, from the Invicta Gym in Queenborough, admits little is known of Dingsdale’s latest opponent.

Askew said: “This fighter is a bit of an unknown quantity but we take everyone seriously.

“We don’t know what the opponent will be like but we are just working on ourselves. We’ll have a look at things in the first round and help Adam out as best we can.

“It’s hard to predict what is going to happen but Adam is certainly getting the attributes now where he is going to stop someone.

“And as we step up the rounds it is going to help him as he is so fit and he’ll be able to keep going while others are drooping.

“We’ll look for a six round fight next and then at the end of the year, if all goes to plan, he could be looking to fight for a minor title.”

Dingsdale’s first two professional fights were won on points, with an impressive showing against Yordan Vasilev last time out.

Askew said: “He fought a tough opponent who was highly rated but he made light work of him and his fight is on YouTube so people can judge for themselves. He was excellent.”

And Dingdale has been improving in the gym since that last fight back in April, where he trains alongside fellow pro Joe Elfidh.

“He is hitting harder than ever,” said Askew.

“His body punches are coming on really well and he has got a lot more leverage in his punching. We’re teaching him to plant his feet and get the power from the floor. He is certainly beginning to look the part.”
