Letterbox arson attack on Folkestone flat

A lit newspaper was thrown through a letterbox in an arson attack in Folkestone.

The flat above a charity shop in Cheriton Road was targeted on Sunday night.

The person living in the property was alerted by a fire alarm and managed to put out the flames with a damp cloth.

Kent Police are now appealing for witnesses to the fire, at about 10pm.
