Lake search for missing dumper truck driver

A RESCUE operation involving police, fire and ambulance services was launched this afternoon to find the driver of a dumper truck, thought to be missing in a lake.

Emergency services were called to Cliffe, near Rochester,shortly before 3pm following reports that a dumper truck had been driven into a lake off Salt Lane.

A Kent Fire and Rescue crew from Strood station was searching the lake with officers from Medway Police.

The search was continuing as darkness fell.
