A team of industry chiefs and architects have publicly
announced plans to build a 250 acre freight terminal in Borough
Green.

Journalists and TV crews were invited to Borough Green Sandpits on Monday for tours of the site where the conglomeration hopes to build a road/rail freight terminal dubbed Kent Rail & Freight Terminal (KRAFT).

The media offensive was designed to steal thunder from
the similar Kent International Gateway proposal at
Bearsted, which is to be decided in a planning
inquiry beginning this week.

Simon Barrett from Cemex
UK explains the plans

Helicopter tours took media over both the KRAFT
and KIG site, in an effort to demonstrate that the
industry-dominated site at Borough Green is more suited to
development.

The KRAFT team says it will await the outcome of KIG
planning inquiry before drawing up an official planning
application.
