A Kent competitor has scooped gold in the World Cup bob skeleton.

For Lizzy Yarnold, from West Kingsdown, it is an amazing achievement - as it's only her second year of competition.

Normally it takes around eight years to reach this level of competition.

It is also the first time that team GB has won both gold and silver in the World Cup bob skeleton.

But she was almost denied her moment of glory in St Moritz.

Yarnold replaced 2010 Olympic gold medallist Amy Williams as Britain's second representative in the World Cup midway through the campaign.
