KentOnline named website of the year at EDF awards in Brighton

KentOnline has been named website of the year at the EDF Energy media awards in Brighton.

The website beat competition from across London and the South East to pick up the coveted title at a ceremony at the Amex Stadium.

Judges said KentOnline had established itself as a brand in its own right and highlighted the huge growth in audience following our redesign in March.

In October more than 2 million unique browsers visited the site, registering 10m page impressions. That continued a trend that has seen us become the UK's fastest-growing regional news network.

Many other KM Group journalists were honoured at today's ceremony. Lesley Bellew was named feature writer of the year while our kmfm news team were highly commended.

Others on the shortlist included political reporter Paul Francis, designers Ashley Austen and Lisa Daniels, Kentish Gazette news editor Joe Walker and our Kentish Gazette and Kent Messenger newspapers.

KM Group editorial director Ian Carter said: "I'm delighted KentOnline took the top prize. It's a real reward for the huge effort staff put in to making the site the county's premier news service, and to all the readers who share their news and pictures with us."
