Kent bowler James Tredwell put himself in the mix for an England Test call with a superb six-wicket haul in Sunday's warm-up game with Bangladesh A.

In his first England appearance in a non-one day game, the 28-year-old spinner took 6-95 off 27 overs as the hosts were bowled-out for 202 on the first day of the three-day warm-up game ahead of Friday's first Test.

With England facing a fitness crisis in the bowling ranks ahead of the match, with Graham Onions, Stuart Broad and Ryan Sidebottom all sidelined, Graeme Swann was rested, leaving Tredwell (pictured) as England's only specialist slow bowler.

Tredwell's account was opened with the help of a superb Ian Bell catch to account for Shamsur Rahman and captain Mohammad Ashraful became his second victim when he fell to another top-notch Bell catch after scoring just one.

Shuvogoto Chowdhury went for nine off Tredwell's bowling, leaving the hosts reeling on 97-5 and the Kent man later finished off the innings with the wickets of Nur Hossain, Syed Rasel and Robiul Islam for a combined 11.

England were 68-3 at the close of the first day.
