A Kent mum is off on a dream holiday to Kissimmee in Florida after beating thousands to a top kmfm prize.

Patricia Read, of Hunt Road, Tonbridge, won flights to Orlando for two adults and two children and seven nights' stay at the Worldgate Resort in Kissimmee.

It comes after more than 5,000 listeners entered the once-in-a-lifetime competition, offered with Thomas Cook Tour Operations and The Kissimmee Convention Bureau.

The prize includes four one-day, one-park tickets for the Disney park of the winner's choice, four tickets to the Arabian Night's Dinner attractions, four tickets to Gatorland and a further four tickets for an airboat ride with Boggy Creek Airboat Rides.

Added to the prize, winner Patricia and family will have all-inclusive car hire provided by Avis.

Speaking after the announcement with presenter Rob Wills, shocked Patricia said she was delighted to have won.

The 58-year-old winner said: “I had forgotten that I had even entered so it was a complete shock when Rob called to tell me I had won.

"Florida has always been on my list of places I want to go and now I’m going. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. My daughter is so excited but it hasn’t sunk in for me yet.

“It’s fantastic to win something, but I’m stunned that I’ve actually won a holiday.”

Patricia, who works at the Tonbridge branch of Sainsbury's in the Angel Centre, lives with husband Mike, 66, and daughter Sophie, 21. The couple also have two sons Ben, 29, and Jordan, 32.

Kmfm's Rob Wills has been hosting his show from Florida this week. For a chance to co-host a show with Rob when he's back in Kent, check out details in the Kent Messenger's Kent County Show supplement published on Friday.
