Kent chairman George Kennedy says the club are exploring every possible avenue in an attempt to recruit an overseas player for next summer.

Mr Kennedy, pictured, admits a bowler remains the county’s priority but finding one who can commit for more than a few weeks is proving difficult.

Mr Kennedy said: "We’re in the market and we are talking to one or two players, but next year there is so much international cricket. It’s all about finding the right guy who is available for a reasonable period.

"In an ideal world we would break the season into three parts and have a quickie at the start of the season, maybe a batter in the middle and a spinner at the end.

"That would be Paul Farbrace’s (Kent head coach) choice but whether that can be achieved is something else."
