Kent businessman murdered in Durban

A 37-year-old Kent man has been murdered in South Africa, it has been revealed.

Kevin Allen, who had been working there for several months, was found dead in a swimming pool in Durban.

Mr Allen, who was born and educated in the Medway Towns, often travelled abroad. He had become a partner in a freight transport business and was involved in exporting computers.

His home was in the grounds of his business partner Dave Wilson's property, which is where his body was found. It was Mr Wilson who broke the news to his parents, Danny and Mary, who live in the Twydall area of Gillingham.

Durban Police are carrying out an investigation and have already questioned two men in connection with the killing.

A spokesman for Medway Coroner's Office said: "Mr Allen's body was repatriated back into the country this week." A post mortem is being held in this country.
