John Nutter could be called upon again on Saturday to fill in for injured winger Andy Barcham and it’s a position boss Mark Stimson feels could suit the player long term.

Nutter’s natural position is at left-back but his chances have been limited because of the form of Chris Palmer. His performances in a more advanced position haven’t, however, done him any harm.

Stimson said: "John loves the ball and wants to get involved and that position might suit him more than left back. He might not get many crosses in but his link-up play was really good and bright and he put in another good shift in (on Monday).

"In the first half he showed some pace that I’ve never seen before and I’ve worked with him for six years!

"As much as we need Andy, John isn’t doing a bad job, and that’s a great thing for a manager when you get players stepping in. Then you don’t have to rush players back."
