Welling manager Jamie Day believes his side are starting to play the way he wants.

Day (pictured) was appointed to the Park View Road helm in November and, after winning his first three games in charge, the Wings suffered a mini-slump in December.

However, they returned to form over the festive period with wins at St Albans and Bromley.

"They knew what we expected when we took over in terms of work-rate but recently we've been putting the ball in right areas at the right time," said Day.

"We are now playing the way that I want us to."

Day also expressed his disappointment at failing to land three wins out of three over Christmas after they lost 2-0 at home to Bromley.

"I felt we did enough to get maximum points as I thought we deserved to win at home to Bromley as well," said Day, whose team are due to host Weymouth in Blue Square South.

"We've got to keep on picking up points and see how far it will take us."
