Jack-knifed lorry causes rush-hour chaos

A LORRY accident on the A2 in the early hours of Wednesday morning caused traffic mayhem for rush-hour drivers.

Police and fire crews from Dover were called to the A2 at around 2.15am after a lorry carrying a trailer-load of car parts jack-knifed between Lydden and Whitfield, sending the trailer onto its side.

Diesel was also spilt on to the road. The German lorry driver managed to free himself before help arrived.

The A2 was closed in both directions with drivers being diverted around the scene of the accident.
