Invicta Dynamos coach Kevin Parrish backs decision to postpone Oxford game

Kevin Parrish says it was the right decision to call off Invicta Dynamos’ ENIHL Division 1 South trip to Oxford City Stars last Sunday.

Ice hockey matches are rarely affected by the weather but with forecasters predicting more heavy snow, coach Parrish admitted: "Had it been a 40-minute trip to Romford it might have been different but I think it would have been irresponsible to have travelled."

Dynamos will hope for no repeat this weekend when they are away again with a trip to bottom side Peterborough on Sunday (6.30pm).

They have beaten the struggling Islanders twice already this season – 11-2 at home and 14-0 on the road – and Parrish has a third victory in his sights

He said: "Peterborough are struggling this year and have also had points deducted for fielding an illegible player.

"They were a good solid side a couple of years ago and pipped us to the play-offs but have gone downhill since."

Forwards Peter Vaisanen and Karl Lennon are continuing their recovery from shoulder injuries but Parrish maintains he won’t rush either this weekend unless they are 100 per cent fit.
