A MAN waiting for a taxi outside a railway station was threatened by a hooded mugger who then made off with his cash.

The 37-year-old victim was waiting at the taxi rank outside Chatham station in the early houyrs when the robbery happened.

It is believed he was threatened between 5am and 5.20am on Saturday, January 20. Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time to contact them.

Officers are particularly interested in talking to a woman who may have seen the robber. The woman is not thought to be connected to the robber but may have useful information.

She is slim, white, aged 16 to 21, 5in 6in with very long blonde streaked hair and was wearing a blouse with blue and white hooped stripes, a black skirt and black boots.

The robber is also white, between 21 and 26, thin build with dark brown spiky hair. He wore a black hooded top, blue jeans and white trainers.
