An ice-cream maker was less than impressed with the efforts of would-be entrepreneurs from the hit TV show The Apprentice.

Last night's show was filmed at Alastair Jessel's Bockingfold Farm in Goudhurst, where contestants were challenged to invent three new flavours of ice-cream.

Mr Jessel's Taywell ice-cream has won awards and is sold at Asda supermarkets under their Best of Kent campaign.

He said: "The place was a complete mess when they had finished and the only ice-cream which was likely was a chocolate and orange one but they didn't buy the oranges until 5pm and we closed at 7pm so they didn't get finished.

"I wouldn't have employed any of them, they were all useless."

In the end, it was Lindi Mngaza who found herself fired by Sir Alan Sugar in a no-holds barred dressing down in the boardroom.

He was not impressed with the team's efforts to market ice cream to the industry.

The challenge was won by the Alpha team, who pipped their rivals, Renaissance, to the post selling £1,455.45 worth of products while Renaissance sold £1,273.64 worth.
