Hyundai extends its warranty

FROM September 1, Hyundai Car (UK) will be offering the UK's first five-year, fully manufacturer-backed, unlimited mileage warranty as standard across its range.

The launch of the revolutionary five year warranty - a direct result of customer demand for a longer warranty period with real value - is a significant increase on Hyundai's current three-year unlimited warranty, already regarded as one of the UK's best.

The new warranty is available to private and fleet users and applies to all models in the range including the Hyundai Amica, Accent, Matrix, Elantra, Coupe, Sonata, Trajet, Santa Fe and XG30. This is a permanent move by the company, not just a limited time offer.

As has been the case with the existing warranty, the UK’s first five-year warranty has been made as transparent and easy to understand as possible.

As well as unlimited mileage (most manufacturers limit mileage to between 60,000 and 100,000 miles), the warranty covers virtually all mechanical and electrical components.

Understandably, some perishable items are not included. However, items such as the exhaust system, timing belts and shock absorbers, for example, are covered for five years’ unlimited mileage.

New owners will not be expected to pay extra for the two additional years and the price of the model range is unchanged.

The warranty is transferable to a new owner if the vehicle is sold within the five year warranty period.

All models in the range will continue to be offered with three years’ RAC Assistance as standard.

The new Hyundai Getz, the company's first entry into the supermini sector will be available with the five-year warranty from launch in October.
