Hunt for youth who threw brick at passer-by

A MAN was injured when he had a brick thrown at his head in broad daylight in what is being described as an "unprovoked assault".

Police say they believe the brick was thrown by one of a gang of around six youths aged between 18 and 19 in Ordnance Strret, Chatham.

The 53-year-old victim suffered a cut to his head.

PC James Reed said: "This was a seemingly unprovoked assault on a man who was innocently going about his daily business.

"The possible consequences of behaviour like this could have been severe.

"I ask anyone who witnessed this assault to get in contact with us, in particular I would like to speak with a woman who is thought to have witnessed the offence from across the road."

Anyone with information about this assault - which happened between 2.30pm and 2.45pm on Thursday, January 24 - is urged to contact police on 01634 792537 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
