Hunt for teenagers who burgled elderly man

POLICE are searching for information after an elderly man was burgled at his home on New Year's Day.

It happened at around 1pm at his home in Wickham Street, Rochester.

Two teenaged boys, one with a small black dog on a leash, knocked at the man's door. When the man answered, the dog ran into the house closely followed by one of the two boys.

The other boy is alleged to have then distracted the man by asking what the time was. Shortly afterwards, both the teenagers and the dog left the house and ran off, disappearing down an alley.

It was then discovered that an old whisky presentation tin containing around £30 in loose change was missing from man's home.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact PC Les Bingham on 01634 891055, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
