Hunt for cash machine raid bid gang

POLICE are searching for a group of six people who attempted to take a cash machine from the Brands Hatch race circuit.

The incident took place at 4.40am on Monday morning at the West Kingsdown site, just off the A20.

Police have been unable to say how the theft was attempted, but did confirm that the gang had been unsuccessful in removing the machine.

Two vehicles were seen driving onto the site in the early hours of the morning on Monday.

Detectives believe one of the vehicles used in the raid may have been a blue, K registration Nissan Patrol, which had been stolen from the driveway of a house in Badgers Mount, Sevenoaks.

It was found abandoned in Ayelands, New Ash Green, shortly before 7.30am on Monday.

The attempt to take the ATM machine from Brands Hatch takes the total number of cash machine raids in Kent to eight since the beginning of the year.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 01732 379217 or Kent Crimestoppers, confidentially, on 0800 555 111.
