Commuters are facing heavy delays on the M2 this morning after an early-hours crash between two lorries.

Kent Police were called to the London-bound carriageway close to the Medway Services, known as Farthing Corner Services, at about 3.40am.

Two lorries, a 10-tonne tipper lorry and a 7.5-tonne lorry loaded with a generator, had collided.

One driver was taken to hospital with injuries described as non life-threatening.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area, between junctions 5 and 4, due to severe delays.

Police were working to recover the two lorries and generator as well as clear a large amount of fuel and debris.

Traffic has been diverted through the services area to avoid the scene, but there were still heavy tailbacks.
