Head teacher loses fight against cancer

THE head teacher of Warren Wood Primary School at Rochester, Peter Coker, has died following a battle against cancer.

Mr Coker, who was 55, had been head of the school for nearly 15 years and had previously worked at Napier Community Primary School in Gillingham.

Director of Education at Medway Council Rose Collinson, said: "Deep felt sympathy goes out to Peter's wife and family. Peter showed great passion, concern and advocacy for the wellbeing of the children in his care and for his work colleagues.

"He was justly proud of Warren Wood and worked tirelessly to ensure it was an inclusive, inviting and improving school. I know I speak colleagues when I say that we shall all miss him."
