A KENT woman killed in a car crash in Wiltshire has been named by police.

Brenda Hume, 63, from the village of Bilsington, near Ashford, died after the car she was travelling in was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle on a main road near Charlton in Wiltshire on Thursday evening.

Mrs Hume and her husband were passengers in a silver Mercedes estate, driven by her brother-in-law, and were on an evening out celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

Mrs Hume was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for the family said: "She was in Wiltshire visiting her sister near Minety."
