Group sought after knife threat in street

DETECTIVES are searching for six people, including a woman, after a 33-year-old man was robbed in the street.

The victim was walking in Luton Road, Chatham, near Chatham Hill, when he was approached him by a group of people. One member of the group threatened him with a knife while another man held him.

The man managed to run away but the robbers escaped with £12 in cash and two recently purchased DVDs.

The incident occurred between 2.15pm and 2.45pm on Tuesday, June 28.

A police spokeswoman said: "The group comprised five men and one woman. The man who threatened the victim with a knife is described as being Eastern European, of large build, in his 30s with dark curly gelled hair. He was wearing a dark tracksuit.

The second man is also said to be Eastern European also of large build and in his 30s. He had dark hair and wore a light coloured top and dark tracksuit bottoms.

Det Con Melanie Riddell said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, or anyone who has information that will help us with this investigation."
