The uncle of a Harry Potter star who was stabbed to death on a night out has said he feels as if he has “lost a son”.

John Knox , from Leybourne, blamed the killing of his nephew Rob Knox on yob culture and lack of respect for the law.

The 18 year old had only just finished filming the latest Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, in which he played student Marcus Belby, when he was stabbed outside The Metro Bar, Sidcup, last month.

Mr Knox said his brother Colin, 55, and Rob’s mother Sally, 50, would “never get over” their loss, and that their son’s killer had given them two life sentences.

He said: “They are done for life now. When they wake up in the morning the first thing they think about is Rob and he will be the last thing they think about at night. My mum is going to have to put her grandson in his grave. It has ruined all of their lives and Rob’s life is gone for good.”

Rob’s parents have not yet set a date for his funeral and it is thought Harry Potter stars, including Daniel Radcliffe who plays the lead role, will attend.

Mr Knox said: “It may well be the case that they are there.”
