Gravesend alley cordoned off after 'sex assault'

An alleyway in Gravesend was cordoned off
after a young woman reported being sexually
assaulted.

The 23-year-old claims she was attacked by two black men - one
of whom was wearing a trilby hat.

Police were called to Rochester Road in the early hours
today.

Officers attended the street at 1.30am and cordoned off a
section of alleyway off Rochester Road - just yards from St John's
Primary School.

No arrests have been made so far.

Police remained at the scene for more than seven hours as
forensic officers combed the scene.

Mother-of-two Bhupinder Khun, 40, of Rochester Road, said she
was shocked to see police outside her window at 6.30am.

She said: "I have never seen a police car here, it is a shock.
There are school children walking past and it is not nice and is
very worrying. It is normally a very quiet area."

Kent Police appealed for witnesses or anyone with any information to phone 101, quoting incident reference 23-0071.
