Grandmother in crash horror named

POLICE have named the 64-year-old woman who died when the car she was driving rolled over on the M20 at Lenham, near Maidstone, at the weekend.

She was Maureen Scott, from Caterham, Surrey, who was at the wheel of a red Mazda. Her 16-year-old granddaughter was taken to Maidstone Hospital with head injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Mrs Scott was driving to a family gathering in Kent when the tragedy happened. Her sister and brother-in-law, who are in their 60s, were also passengers in the car. The sister was injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident which happened at about 12.30pm on Saturday. Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Stephen Mills on 07890 683431.
