Girl suffers electric shock

A YOUNG girl passed out and suffered minor burns to her hands after receiving an electric shock at a caravan site.

The 11-year-old girl was tying her dog to the caravan's metal frame at Leysdown, Sheppey, when the incident happened.

Ambulance crews were called to the caravan site behind the Rose and Crown Hotel in Leysdown Road, and found the girl was unconscious.

They called in back up from the fire brigade who isolated the caravan amid fears the whole chassis might be live. It remained sealed off until Seeboard engineers eventually declared it safe.

The girl, who was thought to be staying in the van with her brother and father, was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham suffering from superficial burns and shock.
