A 19-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a crash which killed a 16-year-old school girl.

NLL Academy student Sam Cundall from Tovil was a back seat passenger in a Ford Fiesta that collided with a skip and scaffolding in St Michael’s Close, Aylesford, in May this year.

She died the following day at Maidstone Hospital after sustaining multiple injuries.

Following her death four people in need of life-saving operations received organ donations.

At the time of the accident former NNL Academy head Jenny Usher said: "She was a lovely girl, bubbly and bright.

"Sam was somebody who was always willing to give a helping hand. I watched her about a year ago putting together hampers for our OAPs’ party and she stayed after school to help.

"She was a great young person who was keen to help others."

The 19-year-old girl who has been arrested, was bailed to Maidstone police station pending further enquiries until November 4.
