Gillingham will not be able to obtain any more tickets for the play-off final at Wembley once they sell their allocation of 38,000.

That’s the message from Gills chief executive Mark Jones as more than 30,000 tickets were sold within two days of going on sale at Priestfield.

With opponents Shrewsbury having an allocation of 21,000 tickets, hopes were high that more Gillingham fans could obtain tickets if necessary.

But Mr Jones (pictured) revealed that segregation at Wembley means there will be no further tickets if Gills sell their initial allocation.

He said: "Shrewsbury took an additional 5,000 tickets and because of the section of the stadium they took them in, it means that we cannot have more than 38,000 because of segregation and the agreements with the police.

"That will be our maximum and that includes the 3,000 Club Wembley tickets and another 400 corporate hospitality seats.

"I didn’t know what to expect. I haven’t experienced it here before but it shows the size of the club.

"We are allowing everybody to buy eight tickets per person now. Everybody can come now for the final 5,000 seats we have left."
