It’s been a tough few weeks with disappointing results and more injuries that has seen the manager having to work overtime to try and get a team together.

On the positive side, hopefully a few injured players will be making a return soon. I don’t know how the likes of Kingy and Garry Richards have got through these months of being injured.

I have only been out a couple of weeks and seeing those four walls inside the gym everyday is a depressing sight.

Hopefully, I can get the all-clear to return to training next week. It was a big surprise to find out I had a fracture in my foot as I have been having a pain there for over a month now but didn’t think too much about it as it didn’t cause me to miss any training or matches.

But with it getting worse, I thought I would get it checked out and discovered a fracture. It’s been frustrating but I can’t wait to get back with the squad and training again.

The last few games have been disappointing. Not just the results but performance-wise.

Last Saturday saw a vast improvement on performance against Crewe. Okay it doesn’t look good losing 3-1 at home but up until the sending-off, we were more than a match for them.

The week leading up to the game saw a few changes around the place and a lot of credit must be given to the manager and most certainly the chairman.

There was a lot of negativity around after the Dover FA Cup defeat but after a quite intense but proactive meeting with the chairman and management, we all left feeling quite positive.

We all believe we can turn this around and it’s going to take a real team effort.

Positive thinking" seem to be the key words at the moment and maybe there is too much negativity around.

The chairman and manager have decided to bring a sports psychologist in to work with the boys and it has surprised me how trying to change your mindset can effect how you feel.

Alot of people may think it’s a load of rubbish but we are willing to give it a try.

Wally Downes has also come in and brings a wealth of experience. Although I have yet to be involved in his sessions, the feedback I have had is that he puts on some constructive sessions.

Hopefully, this will be the start of turning things around and by the new year it will see us in a much more acceptable league position so we can look forward to the second half of the season.

The week has also seen three new players come in on loan, they have all settled into the squad quickly and I’m sure they will improve the team.
