Gillingham manager Mark Stimson tells keeper Simon Royce there will be no improved contract offer

Gillingham boss Mark Stimson has warned keeper Simon Royce that the club will not offer him an improved contract.

Royce was out of contract at the end of last season and is stalling over the deal Gills put on the table.

Royce returns from holiday this week and Stimson is expecting a decision soon on whether he is going to put pen to paper.

"We can’t do any more than we have," said Stimson. "We’ve put an offer in that we feel is realistic and affordable – it’s our final offer."
