Gillingham boss Mark Stimson says the club’s upcoming Coca-Cola League 1 fixtures give him a huge thrill.

Millwall visit Priestfield on Saturday, with games to come against Leeds, Norwich and Southampton to come in the next three weeks.

His enthusiasm makes him sound more like a fan than a manager when he says: "I normally focus on just one game but looked at the list and got a real buzz.

"I can’t wait for games like this to come around, the atmosphere takes care of itself, players want to be involved in them and it’s why I wanted to manage at this level.

"Millwall just missed out on promotion last season and it will be tough and hard. We are excited by the challenge, respect the opposition but games like this should hold no fear for us."

Mark McCammon misses out on facing one of his former clubs after pulling up in the Exeter win with a recurrence of hamstring trouble but the injury isn’t as bad as first feared and Stimson thinks the striker will be out for only a fortnight.

Stimson has the option of playing either Dennis Oli or Andy Barcham up front alongside Simeon Jackson against the Lions, while Adam Miller returns to the squad after missing the Exeter game.

Defender Josh Gowling trained this week, after picking up a knock. Chris Palmer looks set to retain his left-back spot after his first league start last week.

Youngster Luke Rooney will again be in the squad, following his goalscoring debut.

Stimson said: "Luke has looked busy as usual this week, never wants to come off the training ground, and shows great enthusiasm."
