Gillingham boss Mark Stimson admits his squad is "bigger than ever" and is willing to listen to loan offers for some of his reserve players.

The recent signings of Chris Dickson, Rene Howe and James Walker have shunted others down the pecking order with a number of players now out of the reckoning.

Players not making the squad on Saturday were Mark Bentley, Stuart Lewis, Mark McCammon, Jack Payne, Luke Rooney (pictured), Tom Wynter and Rashid Yussuff.

Stimson said: "This is the biggest squad I’ve ever had in my career. It’s good but it does get a little tricky a day before the game.

"You have to tell some players that unfortunately they aren’t training with the first team, they have to do a bit with the youth.

"We would like to get one or two out on loan to get them football and get some finances back but it’s not always as easy as that.

"You find them teams but sometimes they refuse it because of location and things like that. We cant force them but we would like to get two or three out."

Andy Pugh returns this week from Welling while former Bromley man Jacob Erskine is recovering from injury. Gills’ only player out on loan at the moment is striker Luis Cumbers, who is at Blue Square South Dover.
