Manager Mark Stimson praised the performance of Gillingham goalkeeper Alan Julian despite his error that gifted Charlton a seemingly crucial first-half lead during the 2-2 draw at The Valley on Saturday.
Julian, pictured, allowed Fraser Richardson's low effort to creep under him in the 31st minute, but redeemed himself with a string of impressive saves.
Stimson said: "He will be disappointed with the first goal, but I take nothing away from him after that because he was outstanding.
"He has kept us in a few games lately, and everyone is due a mistake now and then.
"It’s just unfortunate that when you are a goalkeeper, there is nobody to get you out of jail."
