Gillingham boss Mark Stimson has told his players to get over Saturday’s thrashing at Millwall fast.

The Gills host rivals Brighton on Tuesday before facing League 1 big-guns Leeds, Norwich and Southampton.

A 4-0 loss at the weekend leaves the Gills two places and two points above the relegation zone with just five games left to play.

Stimson, pictured, said: "We’ve got to get on with it and the players can’t feel sorry for themselves.

"They need to come in on Monday fresh and looking forward to the challenge.

"At the end of the game (on Saturday) when the players were walking off I told them to get their chins and their heads up.

"Were we going to get anything there? The form book said we weren’t. Are we going to get anything Tuesday at home? The form book says we will – now we have to go and maintain it."

The Gills have yet to win away, which has doubled the need for Stimson’s men to perform at home, but he insists it’s not a pressure situation.

"Pressure on home games was last season," he said. "If we didn’t win by three or four we got booed.

"This season it’s not pressure, it’s a challenge and that’s what we’re in it for."
