Trialist Bruce Inkango is expected to get another chance to impress Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler.

The Frenchman, who lists AS Cannes and RCF Paris among his former clubs, played 90 minutes for Gillingham reserves as a right winger on Wednesday.

Hessenthaler admitted: “Bruce was definitely an interesting one.

“He hasn’t had a lot of football, you could see that and the pitch was a little bit slow. “But he has got pace, we saw glimpses of that and he is a good player – an interesting one, that’s all I would say.”

Hessenthaler also ran the rule over former Middlesbrough left-back Jamie Poole, who was up against Brentford’s Sam Saunders.

He added: “Jamie didn’t do a lot wrong. He had Saunders against him and did well. He defends, is enthusiastic and a good talker – but is he better than what we’ve got?

“I’ve got to talk to him.”
